B.E.C.E Held

Despite the uncertainty that surrounded the conduct of the 2024 Basic Education Certificate Examination, earlier scheduled for 3rd to 7th June due to the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) strike that fell within the period, the State Ministry of Education quickly commenced the examination immediately the strike was called off and that made students to sit for the examination from 6th to 10th excluding Sunday.

L.G.I pays unscheduled visit.

Ika-South local Government Inspector, for Corps members within the local government on 24 Monday, 2024 paid an unscheduled visit to the school. Mr. Victor Onwueme who was pleased with the conduct of the two corps members; uwandu Chiamaka Prisca and Affade Morayo currently serving in the school, promised to send in more corps members because the school has been magnanimous and also, big enough to accommodate them.

Third term examination timetable released. 

Following the release of the third term examination timetable by the  Catholic Diocese of Issele-Uku Education Board, students in junior and senior classes are expected to commence the promotional examination on 5 July and end on 12 July, 2024.

Graduation/ Award party scheduled for 17th July.

Graduation party for the school as well as the award and prize giving day has been scheduled for 17 Wednesday 2024. This will take place at the school main field and it is expected to commence at 1300 hour WAT.

Admission on going.

Admission into the Nursery, Primary and Secondary section of the school has been open for prospective pupils and students who are seeking admission into the category of education levels mentioned above. Parents are advised to obtain the Entrance Form from any of the catholic churches within Abavo of visit the school. Also, Entrance Form can be downloaded through http://www.stcharlescollegeabavo.com

Old boys reunion to hold soon.

Some old boys of the school, Mr. Ogbeni Fidelis, Mr. Iroroh Frank and Mr. Eku Peter Chuks visited the school on 1 July, 2024 to intimate the principal, Rev. Fr. Victor Ofili of their plan to hold two days activity under the umbrella of REUNION.

According to Mr. Ogbeni Fidelis who is the chairman of the reunion committee, the event is opened for all ex-students of the school, both in home (Nigeria) and abroad. The date for the event has been scheduled for 7 & 8 September, 2024. On the 7 September, 2024 is for launching to assist the school in infrastructural development and it is planned to hold in the school premises . While the 8 September, 2024 is for dinner party outside Abavo.
