Delta State Government adjusts basic and secondary schools’ resumption date

As the initial 2 months long holiday, embarked upon by schools (both public and private) in Delta State draws to an end, following the decision of the state ministry of education to cut it short by one week, students and pupils alike are advised to dust their bags and get their uniforms ready to resume school on Monday 9th September 2024. Though for those in the catholic schools, the resumption date remains as earlier stipulated; 16th September 2024.

Calendar for the first term released

The academic calendar for the first term 2024/2025 session, as released by the Catholic Education Commission, reveals the term will run for 13-weeks. Starting Monday 16 September and terminating on 13th December 2024.

New scheme of work released

At the nick of vacation for the third term 2023/2024 session, the state ministry of education released new scheme of work to be used for the next academic (2024/2025) session. The new scheme is expected to be used for the next 5years. in the same vein, the Catholic Education Board has taken the pain to highlight the contents and presented the summary of it for her students and teachers use.

Graduation / Award Party held

Just like what has become an annual ritual for schools, ours was not left out either. The school at vacation for the third term organised graduation/ award party for her pupils, students and staff.

The occasion was well greased by graduands, non-graduands, staff, parents, and friends to the school. The graduands who where adorn in gorgeous wears, were treated as kings and queens to the excitement of their parents.

Towards the end of the event, prizes were given to the graduands and award to students and staffers who merited them. The Best Sports Boy and Girl for the year Award was won by Isimoya Wisdom and Lucky Confidence. The Best Science and Art Students Award for the year went to Osoivie Precious and Ugboh Uchenna. For the staff category, the Outstanding Teacher of the year was won by Mrs Okezie Confidence while the Star staff award for the year went to Mr. Okoh Johnbull. At the primary school section, the Best teacher Award went to Mrs. Jegbefume Eunice.

Dr. Ehijene Science competition held

On 27th July,2024. the school took part in the annual Dr. Ehijene science competition for all secondary schools in Abavo. Dr Ehijene who was assisted by Mr. Oseki to administer the test and score the students’ performance bemoaned the  poor performance at the test while noting the rate at which students’ performance decreases. Junior Students took the First position while senior students emerged Third among the schools present.

Head Mistress takes final profession

The school on Saturday 7th September 2024 join one of her staff, Rev. Sr. Florian Amadi, who is currently the Head Mistress of the Nursery/ Primary section, in her final profession as a religious, in the community of the New Evangelization Sisters of mother of perpetual help.
